When the time is running out we should hide under the oak tree wrap our hearts with fig leaves and hold them tight. When time is slipping from our hands (literally) we must not let the breeze of impulsive lingering take over, nor a momentary liking. Nothing. Swallow our feelings along with our morning coffee… Continue reading Times Like These

Power
Today I was reading about Marie Curie: she must have known she suffered from radiation sickness her body bombarded for years by the element she had purified It seems she denied to the end the source of the cataracts on her eyes the cracked and suppurating skin of her finger-ends till she could no longer… Continue reading Power
Thirteen ways to look at a cloud i
An aimless wanderer with no compass or a flag to wave The eyes of God one sin on your left one bliss on your right white-washed page futile and useless Dark as the night heavy with life Sun-worshiper bowing in humility Blocks of the Aristotelian purgatory in a vicious earth we’re doomes Unreachable gold in… Continue reading Thirteen ways to look at a cloud i
Homeland
Al-Watan is an endless story. The homeland is a spiral staircase that paves the way to eternity. Al-Watan, The Homeland. It links your heart to the ground and leave it there, in The Watan. For a second I believed in an alternative. Whenever I go to a major city I will find a piece and… Continue reading Homeland
Not A Love Poem
Two things I know with certainty: It’s a poem it’s not about love Sometimes I love you, Sometimes I don’t When I don’t, you would love me more is that why I don’t? I am me, and you’re you and we’re not what we should be. we’re who we are. days… Continue reading Not A Love Poem
The Hope Of My Life
Either I got too big or the world was just so small to encompass my feelings and emotions of love and infatuation that had overwhelmed me, I didn’t know what happened; I became more content, happier, calmer. And I asked myself as once Bob Marleydid Is this love that I’m feeling ? My mind based… Continue reading The Hope Of My Life

Sun,breeze, and the endless green… Continue reading Endless songs

I leaned out of the window, stretching my body upward as a four-year old kid counting stars in mid June, We’ve passed Shuaafat and moved adjacentely to the separation wall with all it’s might. It was closing on us, engulfing us in it’s own ominous world. I should’ve thought of the woman who died yesterday… Continue reading counting and
Task1: An evocative song
Sitting in the back seat behind mom’s chair, mortified between the urge to release my head from my body and launch it outside the window to absorb some clear ear and get that rush of energy that accompanied the wind, or to keep it safe behind the glass shield, and not taking risks to unleash my dad’s fury since he always said not to get our heads out of the window, especially us- girls.
After sneaking few doses of fresh air to endure another 10 minutes of the full-of-smoke atmosphere that dominated the car, I settled back annoyed by the seatbelt, then this song was played on sun’s radio, this song planted carnation between each other, soft smell that hugged us and brought us close, you see the result was immediate since mom started singing alon(my mom has a really nice voice) my dad hummed quietly.
I’ve didn’tlike these kinds of music at that time, so I found it boring and I asked my mom to change it, and she did, because she loves me. I guess it is true that love can bea killer.
Just around the corner
It was cold, the sky promised a heavy rain and thunder, she hated this weather it was melancholic. Regardless of the common belief that raib brings good things for the future; watering the earth and all the figurative way of understanding. Rain is like barrages of bullets keeping inside your house doing nothing only gaining weight… Continue reading Just around the corner
