The breath is relieving as much as it is hurting. The 100m sprint raised my heart rate up; I could feel my heart alive and beating. It is in these moments of intensity, that one feels and grasps what is to be alive. Hearing the music from behind me, mingled with encouragement words yalla yalla and steady breath helps me to keep going, to challenge myself, and to stretch my physical and mental ability. It is my fourth time running with Right To Movement – Haifa, which is a running community vibrant with life and energy. The most beautiful thing about RTM not only that is an international community across the world, cultures and religions, but rather because it is a running community with a cause and a story to tell. The organization RTM is a non profit, non religious and non political body founded by two young Danish women and Palestinian activists in 2013 to start the first ever Palestine Marathon in Bethlehem. Since then, many communities have been founded from Accra to Copenhagen to Ramallah. Social activism is desired but usually met with political and agenda-related obstacles, yet in RTM the most beautiful foundation is that it is open for anyone and it is action-based. RUN with US and tell the STORY. How powerful can that be?
